家长朋友们下午好~今天的艺术课上,孩子们继续他们的毕加索风格人脸创作。这是这个系列课程的最后一节,大家把前两节课的作品整合在一起,开始动手拼贴。孩子们先在涂好颜色的半圆形面孔上,将上周准备好的五官图形按照毕加索的方式进行组合——正面的眼睛配上侧面的嘴巴,鼻子延伸到额头上,脸部结构被有趣地分割开来。为了让五官看起来更有立体感,大家还想了个巧妙的办法:用长方形的纸折成弹簧状,把第一周画的五官先贴在弹簧上,再把这些“弹簧五官”粘到面孔上。这样一来,眼睛、鼻子、嘴巴都从画面上“跳”了出来,显得格外生动,还真有点毕加索的味道呢! 今天的中文课上,孩子们继续和好饿的毛毛虫做朋友。课程开始,一边回忆毛毛虫一周都吃了什么,一边把食物图片贴到对应的星期格子里。说到苹果、梨和草莓时,老师引导孩子们用“红红的”“圆圆的”“甜甜的”这样的词来描述食物,孩子们争先恐后地举手,有的说“紫紫的李子”,有的说“香香的草莓”,小脑袋里的词汇量还真不少。在接下来的“食物发布会”环节,老师出示了各种食物图片,孩子们学着用形容词给食物“化妆”——苹果变红了,橘子变酸甜了,连绘本里没出现的冰淇淋也被大家夸成了“凉凉的、甜甜的”。随后,大家用“如果我是毛毛虫,我想吃的”的句式练习表达,有的孩子说“想吃脆脆的梨”,有的说“想吃软软的蛋糕”,还把食物贴在自己喜欢的星期格子里。最后是表演游戏时间,孩子们戴上头饰,一边模仿毛毛虫爬行,一边说着今天学到的句子,爬到食物跟前就啊呜一口,玩得不亦乐乎。这节课下来,孩子们不仅记住了故事顺序,还学会用好听的词来描述食物,语言的乐趣就在这吃吃喝喝的游戏中悄悄得到发展。 Daily Menu Moments
Hello everyone, In today’s PBL, the children learned about the attributes and characteristics of sea creatures. They observed a number of creatures and identified whether the creatures had legs, fins and shells. After comparing and contrasting the creatures, the children began to sort the creatures by attributes such as size, color and features. In phonics, the children learned the letter Yy. They identified the letter in upper and lowercase, learned vocabulary containing the letter and used the letter’s sound to blend unfamikliar words. In STEM class, the children learned about the parts of a plant such as root, stem, leaves and flower. They learned a little about the purpose of the plant parts and created a plant craft using soil and playdough. In Chinese class, the children learned about the composition of number two and the number bonds in which the number can be decomposed. Hello everyone, In today’s PBL, the children made an Ocean in a Cup snack, using biscuit, jelly, jelly sweets and cream. What a delicious way to end this week’s learning about the seas and oceans. In phonics, the children identified words containing the sound Xx and continued to fish for magnetic letters to build this week’s CVC words (fox, box, fix, mix, six). In PE class, the children began their assessment of flag football skills such as running, jumping, moving direction, throwing and catching. In Chinese class, the children learned about a variety of ocean creatures such as dolphin, orca and shark. They discovered the unique characteristics of these creatures such as sharks having not natural predators and whales only eating small plankton despite their huge size. Hello everyone, In today’s PBL lesson, the children continued to learn about what lies below the depths of the ocean. They listen to a story entitled Let’s Explore Under the Sea, participated in an associated I-Spy game, carried out the movements of ocean life through dramatic role-play, completed some ocean themed activity sheets and fished for ocean creatures in our water play tray. In phonics, the children created a craft X-ray of a fish to correspond with this week’s letter Xx. In Chinese class, the children continued to learn numeral recognition and number sequencing. Hello everyone, In today’s PBL lesson, the children learned about the variety of animal life that can be in the ocean. They watched a short presentation about sea creatures and we discussed the shapes and sizes of each. The children played a guessing and match sea creatures game, matched creatures to their shadows and identified odd ones out from a row of sea life. In phonics, the children learned the letter Xx. They identified the letter in upper and lowercase, learned vocabulary containing the letter and used the letter’s sound to blend this week’s CVC words. (fox, fix, mix and six). In STEM class, the children learned about the steps involved in planting a seed. The children then carried out these steps outside with the seeds they extracted from fruit last week. First they dug a hole, then they planted the seed, covered it with soil, watered it and placed it in the sunshine. In Chinese class, the children sequenced numbers 1 to 15. They placed these numbers in order underneath a row of ocean creatures and items. Hello everyone, In today’s PBL lesson, the children continued to explore the depths of the ocean and what is down in the deep blue sea. Each child made their own mini sea bottle to take home. They added oil, water, food coloring, shells and a sea creature to their bottles and described what they could they were adding. In phonics, the children reviewed the high-frequency words that they’ve been learning and tried reading some simple phrases. These phrases can be found in this week’s homework. In PE, the children revisited the key movements that they’ve recently learned including running transitions, two-handed catching, flag pulling techniques and safety rule comprehension. In Chinese class, the children practiced counting up to 20 objects by collecting shells and placing them into numeral labelled buckets. They additionally completed a counting and numeral writing activity sheet.
