Hello everyone,
In today’s PBL lesson, the children reviewed the story The Ants and the Watermelon. They answered questions throughout the story regarding what happens next. The children also completed their paper plate watermelon crafts.
In phonics, the remaining children read the book The Mat. They decoded the CVC words and recalled the high-frequency words to read the story aloud. Then, the answered questions about the story and wrote down their answers.
In PE class, the children undertook an assessment of the tennis related theme that they’ve been working on in recent weeks. They were assessed on receiving and controlling a bouncing ball with hands and a tennis racket.
Jackson and Elsa both celebrated their 4th birthday today. Please join us in wishing them a very happy birthday! Thank you for the cake and gifts.

今天的中文课上，我们继续围绕“夏天的色彩”玩了个有趣的小实验。孩子们先在纸上画出大线条的物体，比如太阳、波浪、大树，然后用白胶沿着线条走一遍，再撒上厚厚一层盐。等胶水把盐粒粘住之后，孩子们用笔刷蘸着彩色颜料，轻轻点在盐上——颜色一下子就渗开了，像在冰面上晕染出蓝色、绿色和淡淡的紫色，看着特别凉爽。盐粒形成的纹理一层一层的，就像夏天里的冰纹或者窗上的霜花，孩子们都觉得又神奇又好看。没有复杂的讲解，就是用手去感受色彩在盐上跑起来的样子，顺便也练了控笔和线条的感觉。
