家长朋友们下午好~ 今天的艺术课上,我们先玩了一个躲猫猫的游戏——孩子们在教室里找来找去,气氛一下子就热闹起来了。这个游戏可不只是好玩,它正好引出了今天的小任务:让小猫“藏”起来。上节课上孩子们用深深浅浅的蓝色涂出了一只只立体感十足的小猫,浅蓝像被光照亮,深蓝像躲在阴影里。这节课呢,孩子们拿到深蓝色的皱纸,要给小猫穿上一件隐身衣,把它的部分身体遮住,只让脸和部分身体露出来。孩子们撕纸、比对、粘贴,忙得不亦乐乎——深色皱纸叠上去之后,小猫真的像悄悄藏进了蓝蓝的背景里。最后,大家还给小猫补上了鼻子和嘴巴,这下子,每只小猫都既神秘又神气了。 今天的中文复习课特别热闹,我们用了“讲故事+演故事”的办法来和汉字做朋友。老师先讲了一条小鱼住在小池里、想去大江玩的故事,但每到“鱼、池、江、舟、草、刀、怕、头、天气”这些词的时候,老师就不出声了,只亮出图片,等着孩子们自己从卡片里找出对应的汉字举起来——那一双双小手举得可快了。故事讲完后,每个孩子还轮流选一个自己最喜欢的汉字,现场编一小段剧情演出来:选“刀”的小朋友一边假装切水果一边喊“哎呀切到手了”,演“怕”的孩子抱着肩膀缩成一团,演“去”的小朋友大步流星往外走,嘴里还嘟囔“我要去迪斯尼啦”。教室里笑声不断,汉字就这样被孩子们演活了。 Daily Menu Moments

今天的中文数学课我们是从一个小故事开始:调皮的小娃采回5片荷叶,要和好朋友分享。两个人怎么分呢?摆一摆、想一想,孩子们发现,要么是1和4,要么是2和3,或者5和0——原来5可以这样分成两个部分。接着,我们把游戏搬到了台上:5个孩子听指令跳起来,老师一喊“停”,大家就赶紧站到两张报纸上。结果有时是2和3,有时是1和4,还有一次5个孩子全挤在同一张报纸上,另一张空空的。在笑声和蹦跳中,孩子们亲眼看到了5的不同分法,也慢慢明白了“分与合”的意思。Hello everyone, In today’s PBL lesson, the children reviewed the story The Hungry Caterpillar. They answered questions about the details contained in the book including the start, middle and end of the book. Following the story, the children retold the story using sequencing flashcards and matched items of food to the days of the week as per the story. In phonics, the children learned the diphthong ee. They identified the diphthong from with a row of others, learned vocabulary containing it and used the diphthong’s sound to decode and blend unfamiliar words (bee, seen, tree, three). In STEM class, the children continued learning about insects. Today the went outside with nets on an insect hunt. Once they captured an insect, they would observe its feature such as number of legs and body parts. In Chinese class, the children learned about number bonds up to five. Hello everyone, In a change from our regular Friday schedule, today’s PBL was replaced with a much-needed dance rehearsal. The children practiced the moves in small groups whilst the remainder of the group observed and decided which child’s moves were the best. In phonics, the children began to look at short phrases. As a group we looked at several phrases, blended the words within the phrase and observed its associated picture. Then the children looked at a picture and chose the correct phrase from a selection of three phrases which related to the displayed picture. In PE class, the children played a fun tennis game. They used a tennis racket to stop, push and strike a moving ball. This helped the children build balance, hand-eye coordination, and confidence with sports equipment. This afternoon, we celebrated Amber’s 4th birthday. Please join us in wishing her a very happy birthday and thank her for the gifts. Please find this week’s optional homework in the children’s school bags.今天的中文课,我们先一起回顾了蜻蜓的小秘密。孩子们还记得可清楚了:蜻蜓小时候叫水虿,住在水里,肚子鼓鼓的、还有大钳子,长大了脱掉旧衣服,变成两对透明翅膀的飞行家,还会悬停、吃蚊子呢。大家你一言我一语,把蜻蜓的一生长得牢牢的。接着,我们动手给蜻蜓做漂亮的翅膀。老师先让大家观察蜻蜓图片,左边翅膀和右边翅膀长得一模一样,这叫“对称”。然后教了个神奇的办法:把纸对折,在一边点上颜料,再合起来一按——打开一看,左边右边出现了完全一样的彩色花纹!孩子们兴奋得直拍手。轮到大家动手,红的、黄的、蓝的、绿的,颜料点一点、压一压,每打开一张纸,都像变出一个惊喜。要等颜料干透了,下周再剪成翅膀的形状,贴在蜻蜓身体上,才算真正完成。虽然还不能马上看到蜻蜓飞起来,但小朋友们都特别期待:我的蜻蜓翅膀是粉色和紫色的\我的是蓝色的!复习了知识,又当了回小小艺术家,好有意思的一节课~ Daily Menu Moments
家长朋友们下午好~ 今天的音乐课,孩子们先复习了上周那首超带劲的《我的爸爸真棒》。 一听到熟悉的旋律,孩子们马上拍手、点肩、挥臂,动作记得牢牢的。接着老师拿出非洲鼓,带孩子们利用鼓点练4拍的节奏。孩子们分成两组:第一组小朋友用双手同时敲鼓,每一下都是“啪、啪、啪、啪”,节奏稳稳的;第二组则试着左右手轮流敲,一下左、一下右,像走路一样有规律。两组小朋友都跟着歌曲的旋律,一边唱一边敲,整个教室热热闹闹。虽然有的孩子刚开始左右手换不过来,但多试几次就找到了感觉。这节课下来,大家对4拍子变得更熟悉了,也在敲鼓的快乐里,又一次大声唱出了“我的爸爸真棒”。 今天的中文课,我们一起走进了蜻蜓的神奇世界。先是从一个谜语开始:“大眼睛,亮晶晶,翅膀透明像飞机,捉蚊子,是高手,夏天河边常见它。”——孩子们一下子就猜出了是蜻蜓。可当老师问“你们知道蜻蜓小时候长什么样吗?”大家都愣住了。于是我们翻开绘本《诞生了!水虿》,看到了水下那个肚子鼓鼓、长着大“钳子”的小怪兽——原来它叫水虿,是蜻蜓的宝宝。它能在水里抓小鱼小虾,还要脱好多次皮,最后爬出水草,用力一挣,背上裂开,伸出了透明的翅膀,变成一只漂亮的蜻蜓。接着我们用身体玩起了变身游戏。蓝色地垫当池塘,孩子们蹲在地上学水虿慢慢爬,用手臂一夹一夹地“抓东西”;音乐一变快,孩子们立刻站起来,张开双臂踮起脚尖,像蜻蜓一样飞来飞去,玩得满头大汗。最后每个小朋友拿到一张蜻蜓一生的小卡片,按顺序剪贴:水虿、蜕皮、蜻蜓,把今天学到的知识贴得整整齐齐。一节课下来,孩子们都记住了:原来蜻蜓小时候叫水虿,住在水里,长大了才会变成会飞的蜻蜓! Hello everyone, In today’s PBL, the children continued to learn about life cycles. Today we looked at the life cycle of a frog and followed its process from egg, to tadpole, to froglet to adult frog. The children identified the steps of the cycle and numbered them appropriately. In phonics, the children reviewed the high-frequency words that they’ve learned and were introduced to the word ‘are.’ They identified the word from within a cluster of other sight words, learned how we can use the word in a sentence and created their own sentences containing the word. In Chinese class, the children learned the concept of thick and thin. They observed a number of objects and ordered them from thinnest to thickest. 今天的中文数学课特别好玩,老师用一杯珍珠奶茶带孩子们认识“粗和细”。一开始,老师用吸管吸茶里的“珍珠”,怎么吸都吸不上来,急得不行;换了一根粗一点的吸管吧,哇,一下就把“珍珠”吸到嘴里了。原来吸管粗细不同,效果差这么多!然后老师让孩子们试试把真的珍珠放进不同粗细的吸管里:有的吸管珍珠根本塞不进去,有的刚好卡住,有的珍珠放进去还能在里面滚来滚去,特别有意思。老师又问:“如果换成更大的珍珠,粗吸管还能吸起来吗?”孩子们想了想,觉得不一定——珍珠太大,再粗的吸管可能也装不下。原来粗和细是相对的,要看和谁比。接着老师又搬出几根树桩,让孩子们试着坐上去。细树桩坐上去摇摇晃晃,屁股硌得慌;粗树桩稳稳当当,坐着可舒服了。最后孩子们动手把一堆平面木片从粗到细排成一排,一边排一边比,谁粗谁细一下子就清楚了。一节课下来,孩子们先是观察,再动脑筋想,最后自己动手操作,轻轻松松就学习“粗 & 细”。原来数学就藏在吸管、珍珠、树桩、木片等常见的东西里,真有趣! 家长朋友们下午好~ 今天的艺术课上,孩子们重点观察了“明暗色”的变化。老师提前调好了深深浅浅的蓝色颜料——有的蓝向天空一样蓝,有的像大海一样蓝,有的接近深蓝色。孩子们拿到剪好的小猫轮廓纸后,先看一看、比一比这些蓝色的不同,然后自己动手用深浅不一的蓝色去涂小猫身上的小色块。涂色时,老师鼓励孩子们先从浅蓝开始,再逐渐换上深蓝。这样涂出来的小猫,浅色的部分像被光照亮,深色的部分仿佛躲在阴影里,整只小猫看起来就有了立体感。孩子们在操作过程中感知到:同一种蓝色,因为深浅不同,带来的感觉也不一样,对“明\暗”色的对比有了更直观的认识。 今天下午的中文课,我们和唐朝诗人白居易的《池上》来了一次亲密接触。短短四句诗,却像放了一小段动画片:一个小娃撑着小船,偷偷采了白莲花往回走,还以为神不知鬼不觉,结果小船划开浮萍,留下一条清清楚楚的水路,一下子就把自己给“出卖”了。孩子们听到这儿都笑起来,说这个小娃真是又淘气又可爱。我们一边读诗,一边认了“池、鱼、开、关”四个字,还试着用自己的话讲一讲诗里的情景——小娃心里肯定又紧张又得意\那条水路就像在偷偷告密。一节课下来,诗记住了,字认得了,那个偷采白莲的小娃也好像真的走进了我们的教室。 Daily Menu Moments
Hello everyone, In today’s PBL, the children learned about the life cycle of a bee. From egg to larva, pupa to adult bee. We recreated each of these steps with a cut and paste activity. The children also continued creating bee related craftwork that they began on Friday. In phonics, the children learning the diphthong ‘oa.’ They identified the diphthong from within a row of other digraphs, learned vocabulary containing the diphthong and used its sound to blend unfamiliar words. In STEM class, the children learned about the parts of an insect. The observed real and model insects and noted down how many features such as legs, wings and antennae they could count. 今天的数学活动我们围绕长短以及长短比较展开,孩子们在游戏和操作中玩得很开心。从“长长蛇、短短虫”的身体律动开始,孩子们用伸臂和蹲下来感受长短;接着用绳子、吸管、木棒、压舌板等比较长短,学会了“要对齐一头才能比”,而且初步认识长短是相对的。在找朋友排排队环节,孩子们拿着长短不同的材料两两一组比较,然后分别站到对应的长长的、短短的队伍里。最后我们站到一起,变成一条可以变身的长长蛇和短短虫,长长蛇在散步,而当老师念到“短短虫快出来”时所有人蹲下再站起来,教室里笑声不断。最后孩子们用彩色纸条自由粘贴“长长蛇”或“短短虫”的拼贴画。整节课大部分孩子都能说出谁长谁短,愿意和同伴合作、分享,在快乐中初步建立了长短的概念。 Daily Menu Moments
今天中文课上,老师戴上蜜蜂发箍,扮成一只嗡嗡飞的小蜜蜂,带着孩子们一起“破案”——虫子到底喜欢住在什么样的家里?大家先开动小脑筋,回忆平时在哪里见过虫子:有的说昨天看到了笼子里的瓢虫,一碰就跑;有的说在石头底下发现过圆滚滚的西瓜虫,一碰就缩成小球;有的说再地底下发现过蚂蚁。老师还拿出了几只玩具虫子,有瓢虫、蚂蚁、竹节虫、蝴蝶、甲虫等,一边举着一边问孩子们这些虫子喜欢钻洞,还是喜欢躲在树皮缝里? 孩子们看着玩具虫子,争着说自己的想法。聊着聊着,大家慢慢明白了:有的虫子爱钻竹筒和墙缝,有的爱藏在树皮底下,还有的喜欢湿湿的落叶堆。整节课就像在玩侦探游戏,大家说得热火朝天,忍不住凑上来摸一摸玩具虫子和搭建虫子旅馆的材料。下周我们就要真的动手搭虫虫旅馆啦,孩子们已经等不及要给小虫们造一个真正的家了。Hello everyone, In today’s PBL, the children learned about bees. 家长朋友们下午好~ 今天的音乐课特别温暖又热闹。孩子们首先先、欣赏了绘本《我爸爸》,书里那个跑步飞快、连大野狼都不怕的爸爸,把孩子们逗得哈哈大笑。接着她们学唱了一首超带劲的歌曲《我的爸爸真棒》,歌里唱道:我的爸爸真棒,干啥都是第一名,真是我的偶像,没你真不行。 孩子们可是非常认同呢!歌曲旋律活泼欢快,孩子们跟着老师学做简单的手势——拍手、点肩、挥臂、拍手,正好踩上4/4拍的节奏。孩子们边唱边跳,自信地唱出“我的爸爸真棒!”那一刻,教室里全是亮晶晶的眼睛和甜甜的笑脸。 今天的中文课,我们一起走进瓢虫的神奇世界。先是通过绘本《诞生了!瓢虫》,看到了瓢虫宝宝从小小的黄色卵,变成黑黑的、浑身带刺的幼虫,再变成一动不动的蛹,最后“破壳”而出,变成一只穿着红袍、点点花纹的漂亮成虫。接着孩子们一边回顾瓢虫的成长过程一边跟着做动作:蹲成圆圆的卵、趴在地上学幼虫“咔嚓咔嚓”吃东西、立正站好当蛹,最后张开双臂“飞”起来! 最热闹的是手工和观察环节。孩子们用超轻粘土捏出一只只可爱的瓢虫,剪下一片老师打印的树叶,把瓢虫轻轻放上去。更让人惊喜的是,我们还请来了真正的瓢虫小客人!有几个胆大的孩子伸出小手,让瓢虫在手心里慢慢爬,兴奋得眼睛发亮;还有一个小朋友发现,瓢虫轻轻抖一抖翅膀,真的飞起来啦!这节课,大家不仅记住了瓢虫的成长秘密,还和真实的小生命来了一次亲密接触,真是太有意思了。 Daily Menu Moments
