Hello everyone,
In a change from our regular Friday schedule, today’s PBL was replaced with a much-needed dance rehearsal. The children practiced the moves in small groups whilst the remainder of the group observed and decided which child’s moves were the best.
In phonics, the children began to look at short phrases. As a group we looked at several phrases, blended the words within the phrase and observed its associated picture. Then the children looked at a picture and chose the correct phrase from a selection of three phrases which related to the displayed picture.
In PE class, the children played a fun tennis game. They used a tennis racket to stop, push and strike a moving ball. This helped the children build balance, hand-eye coordination, and confidence with sports equipment.
This afternoon, we celebrated Amber’s 4th birthday. Please join us in wishing her a very happy birthday and thank her for the gifts.

今天的中文课,我们先一起回顾了蜻蜓的小秘密。孩子们还记得可清楚了:蜻蜓小时候叫水虿,住在水里,肚子鼓鼓的、还有大钳子,长大了脱掉旧衣服,变成两对透明翅膀的飞行家,还会悬停、吃蚊子呢。大家你一言我一语,把蜻蜓的一生长得牢牢的。接着,我们动手给蜻蜓做漂亮的翅膀。老师先让大家观察蜻蜓图片,左边翅膀和右边翅膀长得一模一样,这叫“对称”。然后教了个神奇的办法:把纸对折,在一边点上颜料,再合起来一按——打开一看,左边右边出现了完全一样的彩色花纹!孩子们兴奋得直拍手。轮到大家动手,红的、黄的、蓝的、绿的,颜料点一点、压一压,每打开一张纸,都像变出一个惊喜。要等颜料干透了,下周再剪成翅膀的形状,贴在蜻蜓身体上,才算真正完成。虽然还不能马上看到蜻蜓飞起来,但小朋友们都特别期待:我的蜻蜓翅膀是粉色和紫色的\我的是蓝色的!复习了知识,又当了回小小艺术家,好有意思的一节课~
