🌟 Happy Teachers’ Day! 🌟
Today is Teachers’ Day, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Reception E families for the wonderful gifts, kind messages and well wishes we received today. 🎁💐💛 You really made us feel very special and appreciated, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness. Thank you! 😊
🔤 Early Sound Systems (ESS)
In ESS, we began by singing our phonics sound song 🎵🔡 before returning to our funny story Did You Ever? 📖😂.
This time, the children listened carefully and picked out the different /e/ words they could find throughout the story. 👂🔎 We then practised saying the words before the children wrote them on their own whiteboards. ✏ The children are becoming increasingly confident at listening for sounds within words and having a go at writing what they hear.
We also spent some time practising writing our names ✍😊. We focused on forming our letters carefully and becoming more confident writing our names independently — an important skill we will continue to work on throughout Reception. 🌱
🔢 Logical Exploration
In Logical Exploration, we practised counting forwards and backwards to 20 with a little help from our friends, the Numberblocks! 🔢🎉
The children did a great job joining in as we counted all the way up to 20 before turning around and making our way back down again. Counting backwards can be a little trickier, but everyone gave it a fantastic go! 👏🌟
It’s been a wonderful Teachers’ Day and another great day of learning in Reception E. Thank you again for making today feel so special! 💐💛
