In today’s PBL lesson, the children listened to the story The Ants and the Watermelon. Following the story, the children discussed the events contained within the start, middle and end of the story. Following the story, the children began to make a paper watermelon craft.
In phonics, the children reviewed the high frequency words that they’ve already learned and were introduced to additional words “on’ and “a.” They also reviewed some simple CVC words before group reading the story The Mat. Following the story, the children used words from the story to make their own sentences such as, A cat on the man.
In STEM class, the children learned how to build a ramp. Working in small groups the children designed their own ball ramp and learned how the height, shape, balance and direction of the ramp would help the ball move down it.
今天中文数学课我们通过“大鳄鱼饿肚子”的游戏，认识大于号和小于号。鳄鱼的大嘴巴总是朝着香蕉多的那一边，因为它的肚子永远填不饱嘛！两个孩子站在桌子两边，一声令下，争着把桌上的香蕉往自己的盘子里装，直到桌面变得光光的。接着大家一起数一数：一个盘子里有7根，另一个有6根。这时候，鳄鱼该往哪边张嘴？桌子这边的孩子需要把“>”放在两个盘子中间，大声说出“7大于6”，对面的小伙伴也不甘示弱，举起“<”喊出“6小于7”。就这样玩着玩着，孩子们就都记住了：谁的数字大，鳄鱼就朝着谁笑，开口的方向永远冲着多的那一边。
