Hello everyone,

Following today’s circle time, the children celebrated the Double 9 Festival. We also went out for a picnic and practiced blending our phonics sounds into simple CVC words.

For the Double 9 celebration, the children made tea bags to offer to their grandparents when they return home.

Once the children had completed their tea bag making activity, we headed to the riverside for our Halloween Harvest picnic. We took along some music and danced around for a while before sitting down on the picnic blankets and sharing the treats that some of the children had brought from home. Once everyone had eaten, it was time to use our garden tools again to explore the undergrowth. What a great morning!

In the afternoon, it was time to use this week’s letter sound (g) along with sounds that the children have already learned to make CVC words including pig, dig and gas.

Thank you to all of you who provided snacks and blankets for this morning’s picnic. It was greatly appreciated and contributed to a wonderful morning outside in the sunshine.
