Hello everyone,

Following this morning’s circle time and calendar activities, the children reviewed their recent mathematics learning.

The children reviewed numbers 1 – 15 and in small groups counted two sets of quantities and compared them using the crocodile symbols for ‘great than’ and ‘less than.’

In STEM class, the children began to learn about size. They went outdoors to collect leaves before returning to the classroom to categorize them into small, medium or big sized leaves.

In phonics, the children reviewed the letters that they’ve learned so far and were introduced to the letter Gg. The children learned words including girl, green and grapes, carried out a number of small activities where they identified the letter in upper and lowercase and briefly blended sounds to create simple CVC words.

In the afternoon, we had our Halloween Harvest Tea Party. All the children of the Nursery year group gathered outside and enjoyed some small snacks and ginger tea.

In Chinese mathematics, the children learned about the composition of numbers and how any quantity is made of one or more than one individual units.

Thank you to those of you who have already brought in your pumpkins. For everyone else, please bring them in to school tomorrow. Many thanks in advance.
