Hello everyone,
Following this morning’s circle time calendar activities and outdoor learning, the children continued to make sentences regarding family members and the things they do together.
The children learned a number of verbs such as laugh, run, draw, swim etc. After identifying the verbs, the children placed them against a family member flashcard and created sentences such as “My mummy swims with me,” “My daddy laughs with me” etc.
In STEM class, the children began to learn about simple 2D shapes. They went outside to gather some sticks. The sticks were brought back into the classroom to create 2D shapes with, such as squares and triangles.
In phonics, the children learned the letter Mm They identified the letters in upper and lowercase, associated the letter with its sound and learned vocabulary beginning with the sound such as milk, monkey and mat.
In Chinese class, the children began to learn about number neighbors. First, they were introduced to the meaning of a neighbor and carried out some small activities to understand that a neighbor is the one next to you on either side. They then applied this knowledge to numbers on a number line.
