Hello everyone,
Following this morning’s circle time calendar activities and outdoor learning, the children reviewed what they’ve learned over the past six weeks regarding families.
The children identified each member of the LUC Family book using the sentence structure, ‘Who is this?’ and ‘This is my mother/father’ etc. Then, we reread the book and talked about some of the activities contained within it. Finally, we had a look at the children’s craft family houses. Each child introduced his house, the family members inside it and what they were doing together.
In STEM class, the children began to learn about the habitats of animals. This week they looked at ocean animals. The children observed live jelly fish and used models in water trays to explore ocean life.
In phonics, the children learned the letter Oo. They identified the letter in upper and lowercase and learned vocabulary beginning with the letter.
In Chinese mathematics, the children reinforced their knowledge of number 1 to 10 through a number of activities that included numeral recognition, counting and numeral formation exercises.
