Hello everyone,

In today’s PBL class, the children listened to and discussed the story The Gingerbread Man. They identified the characters of the story and talked about the sequence of events that takes place. The children consolidated details from the story by participating in a game similar to Duck, Duck, Goose and creating their own interactive Gingerbread boy and girl.

In phonics, the children carried out blending practice. They identified the sounds and built this week’s CVC words (big, but, bed, bag) using magnetic letters.

In Chinese class, the children listened to the story Pulling the Radish. After listening to the story, the children participated in an interactive role play, imitating dialogue and actions from the story. Then, they made and ate their own radish ball creations made from simple ingredients.

今天的中文课上我们分享了故事 “拔萝卜”。故事从播种开始,主人公悉心照料,直到萝卜长得很大。到了拔萝卜的时候,她一个人怎么也拔不动,于是她叫来了班级里所有的小朋友来帮忙。大家“嘿哟嘿哟”地一起用力,虽然累得满头大汗,甚至有人因为太用力而摔倒,但整个过程充满了欢乐,最终大萝卜成功被拔了出来。果然是人多力量大呀!
拔出了萝卜,故事还在继续。我们接着讨论了用萝卜可以做什么美食。孩子们的想法很多,有的提议做萝卜龙虾汤,有的建议炒萝卜丝,最后一致决定做萝卜丸子。孩子们认真地洗手、穿上厨师服,参与到洗萝卜、刨丝、切配的准备工作中。看着老师将萝卜丝与配料、面粉搅拌,再捏成丸子下锅炸至金黄,整个教室都飘满了香气,很多小朋友都忍不住说“好香啊”,还没吃就已经开始咽口水了。当热乎乎、金灿灿的萝卜丸子终于吃到嘴里时,孩子们脸上都洋溢着快乐的笑容。从故事里的口号到教室里的香气,孩子们度过了一段充满欢笑与美味的时光,更让团结合作的道理变得具体可感。
