Hello everyone,
Today was our Scholar’s Week dress-up day. Thank you to all of those parents who sent their children to school with their favorite books and dressed up in costume as their favorite book character.
In today’s PBL class, each of the children presented their favorite book to the class and described who they were dressed up as. Following the introduction to each book and character, the children shared their books with their friends in the classroom.
In STEM class, the children had their final lesson regarding magnets. They used a magnetic putty and iron fillings to observe the strength of attraction and learned that magnets can take on different forms.
In phonics, the children learned the letter Ff and the digraph ff. They identified the letter Ff in upper and lowercase and learned vocabulary beginning with and containing the letter Ff along with the digraph ff.
In Chinese class, the children reviewed numbers up to 15 and learned how the quantity and numeral changes when one more is added to any given number. To assist the children understand this concept, they hopped along a large number from one number to the next. The children also practiced counting small objects, counting out one more than a given number.
****Tomorrow, the children will take part in a Scholar’s Week Spelling Bee activity. If you have yellow clothing, it would be appreciated if you send your children to school wearing these items. *****
