Hello everyone,
Today the children celebrated 100 Days of School. They learned about the quantity of 100 along with the numeral, listened to a story about 100 Days of School, answered questions about 100 and were presented with 100 Days of School certificates.
In PBL, the children listened again to their self-made story from last week, Stomp & Astra’s Big Adventure. They answered questions about the characters, settings and events in the story and they made a story related book mark.
In phonics, the children reviewed the letter Jj. They identified words beginning with the letter and used the letter’s sound to blend unfamiliar words. Additionally, the children read an interactive phonics story and created CVC words with the short vowels Ee & Ii.
In Chinese class, the children continued to celebrate the 100 Days of school by creating special 100 Day hats, sorting and counting out their objects into ten groups of ten and tasting some of the 100 tiny cup cakes made in class.

每一天NB的孩子们都会将一根数棒放入个位数的小桶中,用来计算到校的天数。当个位数桶里的数棒达到十根时,孩子们会用皮筋将它们捆成一捆,放入十位数的小桶中。通过这种方式,孩子们不仅记录了自己到校的天数,还直观地理解了个位数与十位数之间的关系,同时也在过程中感受到“我在长大”的自豪感。
今天是本学年第100个上学日,这是一个特别的日子!在今天的中文数学课上,孩子们将所有的数棒捆在一起,放入代表百位数的小桶中,标志着他们共同度过了100天的学习时光。为了庆祝这一特殊的日子,孩子们一起制作了100个小蛋糕。他们将蛋糕分成每盘10个,然后通过“10个10个数”的方式数到100。最后,孩子们共同享用了自己亲手制作的蛋糕,感受了集体劳动的成果和分享的快乐。孩子们还制作了一顶非常有趣的帽子。这顶帽子由十张纸条组成,每张纸条上贴有十个贴纸…… 你能数出来这顶帽子上一共有多少个贴纸吗?
孩子们还从家里带来各种小物品,她们每人领取一张黑纸,每张纸上有10个圆圈,孩子们需要在每个圆圈里摆放10件物品。 全部摆放完成后,更容易10个10个数到100, 直观感受到“百”作为一个整体单位的构成方式。今天的庆祝活动以数学概念贯穿始终,孩子们在手工制作—游戏摆放—集体分享等环节中深化对十进制和数位的认识,也在集体协作与庆祝氛围中增强了对校园生活的归属感和成长自豪感。
