Hello everyone,
In today’s math lesson, the children continued to learn about 1:1 correspondence. They counted starts and matched the number they’d counted to a numeral. They used count and clip cards to place a peg on the correct number for the items illustrated and they completed a worksheet where they counted items, colored them and circled the appropriate numeral.
In phonics, the children continued to blend simple CVC words containing the letter Uu. These included the words sun, run, cup, mug and up. The children identified a picture card, sounded the word out and placed the correct magnetic letters in sequence onto a whiteboard.
In PE class, the children completed an obstacle course that included running, throwing, stepping and crawling.
In Chinese class, the children continued to learn about traditional games that were played by Shanghainese youngsters over the years. Today, the children played hide-and-seek and learned the Shanghainese phrase, “I found you.”
Please find this week’s optional homework in your child’s backpack. Additionally, there is a mapping activity that can be found below.
