Hello everyone,

In today’s PBL lesson, the children briefly revisited old and new Shanghai. They looked at the development of building, fashion and activities carried out over the years. Then, the children were introduced to a number of recreational sites across the city such as Shanghai Disney, Shanghai Aquarium, Legoland, China Art Museum etc. They told whether they had visited each site and if it was fun or not. Next, the children were given clues as to what someone might want to see or do. They placed toy vehicles on each location to mark the correct answer. Finally, the children pretended to board a bus and go on a site seeing visit of Shanghai.

In phonics, the children learned the letter Uu. They identified the letter in upper and lowercase, associated the letter to its sound, learned vocabulary beginning with the letter and practiced blending unfamiliar words containing the letter.

In Chinese class, the children, took a trip into the jungle to locate dinosaur eggs and learn about number correspondence. They found that one dinosaur would lay one egg (1:1 correspondence.) Once the egg had hatched, they found 2 footprints for each baby dinosaur (1;2 correspondence). It got cold and the dinosaurs needed gloves. Each dinosaur needed 2 gloves. (1:2 correspondence). Finally, the children carried out a paper exercise matching 1 cat to 2 fish for his lunch.
