NR2 – Today in English Reinforcement, the children reviewed talking about their favorite animals using all the sentence patterns we’ve learned so far and adding in our final question “What do you think of your favorite animal?” and the answer “I think that it is a/an _ animal.” We reviewed descriptive language and ways that we can talk about our favorite animals using adjectives to describe them in detail. The students did little role plays and games to put all of our sentence patterns together into a short speech and practiced telling their classmates about the animals they like.
We also reviewed our high-frequency words through a fun and interactive game, helping the children strengthen their word recognition, reading fluency, and quick recall.
To finish the lesson, we read “Trip to the Fire Station.” The children practiced blending sounds, recognizing familiar word patterns, and reading aloud with increasing confidence, accuracy, and expression.
