In today’s PBL lesson, the children continued with their Scribble Stones craft by using felt pens to decorate the stones they painted on Monday following the reading of the story book.
In phonics, the children undertook guided reading. Each child read through the story The Log. They blended the CVC words and recalled the high-frequency throughout the story. Following their reading, they answered questions about it and wrote their answers down with assistance.
In Chinese class, the children used their English PBL Scribble stones to create a Father’s Day gift. The rock will be accompanied by a photo containing a short message from each child.
今天中文课上，孩子们把英文课画好的“故事石头”变了个魔法——做成了一份给爸爸的特别礼物。我们把孩子和爸爸的合照打印出来，大家在照片背面认真写下“Dad, you rock”，这句话既是“爸爸你超酷”，也是“爸爸你是石头明星”的双关俏皮话。接着在老师帮助下，用软铁丝把石头缠紧，留出长长的铁丝尾巴，再弯成喜欢的造型，最后把照片夹在铁丝中间，一个独一无二的相片夹就立起来啦。整个过程像一次小小的创意工程：石头当底座，铁丝当支架，照片是主角，而那句“You rock”是藏在背后的悄悄话。虽然铁丝扭得歪歪扭扭，照片夹得高高低低，但那份这是我亲手做的的得意劲儿，比什么都亮眼。提前祝所有的爸爸们节日快乐，你们真的都很rock！🎸
