In today’s PBL, the children learned about the life cycle of a bee. From egg to larva, pupa to adult bee. We recreated each of these steps with a cut and paste activity. The children also continued creating bee related craftwork that they began on Friday.
In phonics, the children learning the diphthong ‘oa.’ They identified the diphthong from within a row of other digraphs, learned vocabulary containing the diphthong and used its sound to blend unfamiliar words.
In STEM class, the children learned about the parts of an insect. The observed real and model insects and noted down how many features such as legs, wings and antennae they could count.
今天的数学活动我们围绕长短以及长短比较展开,孩子们在游戏和操作中玩得很开心。从“长长蛇、短短虫”的身体律动开始,孩子们用伸臂和蹲下来感受长短;接着用绳子、吸管、木棒、压舌板等比较长短,学会了“要对齐一头才能比”,而且初步认识长短是相对的。在找朋友排排队环节,孩子们拿着长短不同的材料两两一组比较,然后分别站到对应的长长的、短短的队伍里。最后我们站到一起,变成一条可以变身的长长蛇和短短虫,长长蛇在散步,而当老师念到“短短虫快出来”时所有人蹲下再站起来,教室里笑声不断。最后孩子们用彩色纸条自由粘贴“长长蛇”或“短短虫”的拼贴画。整节课大部分孩子都能说出谁长谁短,愿意和同伴合作、分享,在快乐中初步建立了长短的概念。
