Hello everyone,
In today’s PBL, the children made an Ocean in a Cup snack, using biscuit, jelly, jelly sweets and cream. What a delicious way to end this week’s learning about the seas and oceans.
In phonics, the children identified words containing the sound Xx and continued to fish for magnetic letters to build this week’s CVC words (fox, box, fix, mix, six).
In PE class, the children began their assessment of flag football skills such as running, jumping, moving direction, throwing and catching.
In Chinese class, the children learned about a variety of ocean creatures such as dolphin, orca and shark. They discovered the unique characteristics of these creatures such as sharks having not natural predators and whales only eating small plankton despite their huge size.

今天中文课上，我们继续探索了神秘的海底世界。孩子们跟着视频短片初步认识珊瑚礁、红树植物、海底火山等多神奇的地貌，一起讨论了海底火山的喷发原理——它喷出的是超过1000度高温的黏稠岩浆，海水无法进入火山口内部将其扑灭。随后我们动手做了个小实验：用小苏打、醋和红色食用色素模拟火山喷发。当红色的“岩浆”从“火山口”涌出时，孩子们兴奋地欢呼起来，在动手操作中直观感受化学反应带来的奇妙变化，在实验中加深了对海底火山地貌的认知，更加激发了孩子们对海洋奥秘的好奇心。
