Hello everyone,
In today’s PBL, the children continued to learn about typical lunar New Year customs such as cleaning the house, getting a haircut, family reunions etc. They learned vocabulary including lanterns, dumplings, fireworks etc and they made a hand-print Chinese dragon.
In phonics, the children used an interactive word machine to create, segment and blend a number of simple CVC words and read an interactive story as a group.
In PE class, the children developed body coordination through directional running exercises, catching drills involving moving targets and passing skills, emphasizing timing with partners. They finished their lesson with a short game of flag football.
In Chinese class, the children learned about Valentine’s Day – A day of expressing love and gratitude. They learned that the heart shape is used to express love and created heart-based crafts for their chosen loved ones.
Please find optional homework in the children’s school bags. Additionally, please find the phonics sounds, CVC words and high-frequency words that the children have been learning throughout this unit below.
Xin Nian Kuai Le! Happy holidays. We’ll resume classes on March 2nd.
