Hello everyone,
In today’s PBL, the children continued to learn about the typical types of shops, services and workers that are found in a city. They identified what specific places in the community are, who works there and why they would need to go there. The children consolidated this information through role-play activities.
In phonics, the children practiced blending simple words containing the ‘ck’ sound such as sick, sock, tick, sack and using magnetic letters and a hand-held whiteboard.
In PE class, the children carried out an assessment that measured the children’s ability to carry out tasks such as standing on tiptoes, hopping, jumping and controlling a ball.
In Chinese class, the children talked about Shanghai cuisine and tried to make their own hand-made Shanghai noodles.
Please find tis week’s optional homework in your child’s backpack.
Next week, we will be learning about Shanghai – Old & New. As part of this, we will hold a show and tell activity on Friday. If you have something that you could send to school with your child to present, it would be greatly appreciated. This could be something such as an old coin, pictures of the past, old clothing or toys, old phones or new gadgets and things that were not available years ago. Please bring these in next Friday with an explanation of what the items are. Many thanks in advance. *
