Hello everyone,

In this morning’s PBL lesson, the children continued to learn about their city – Shanghai. The children zoomed in from a picture of the earth to discover the location of China, Shanghai, Pudong and Century Park. The children briefly revisited the Shanghai landmarks that they observed in the previous lesson and went on to construct their own Shanghai cityscape using Lego bricks. The children also colored a children’s Shanghai map and a picture of Lujiazui.

In phonics, the children carried out blending practice by catching fish flashcards that had this week’s blending words on them (cat, cap, can, kid & kit). Once the children had caught a fish, they would blend the sounds together to form the CVC word and match it to its associated picture.

In Chinese class, the children learned about the 2D shapes such as heart, diamond, semi-circle and star. They used a Fix the Picture cut and paste activity to identify missing shapes and place them into their correct position. Additionally, the children created their own 2D shapes with the use of straw type construction toys.
