Hello everyone,
We have come to the end of our first day together in Nursery B. The children have settled in remarkably well and are all ready beginning to understand some of the expectations and procedures of the class.
During this morning’s circle time, the children were introduced to the calendar and our daily routine of identifying the day of the week, month of the year, the day’s date, the current season and the day’s weather.
Following a snack and outdoor learning time, the children listened to the story The Colour Monster. They identified the colours and feelings of each monster in the book and imitated each of the monster’s feelings The children then played a musical game and carried out a sorting activity to consolidate their understanding of colour names.
During the afternoon, the children got to know one another through answering some simple questions and were all presented with their first day completion certificates.
